24 – HOUR OPERATIONAL CONTROL ROOM

Over the past few years great progress has been made in combating crime with the aid of CCTV cameras linked to sophisticated control rooms. Elphash Trading Enterprise has a fully-fledged operational security control which is situated at our Head Office in Pretoria West. Should a need arise, we will link our control room with the Client’s control room on-site. Information and communication technology is changing at an ever increasing rate. This implies a growing amount of information to be permanently analyzed, visualized and controlled. A true surveillance environment is designed to provide real-time collaborative work experience for monitoring, response dispatching / access/flow control, recording and overall systems control for 24/7 operations. We provide such service with easy at our control rooms across our areas of operations.

 

  • We operate 24 hours a day including patrols which includes twelve (12) hours per shift.
  • Officers from the post will report every hour to the control room. The controller will issue them with an OB number.
  • The controller will monitor the movements of vehicles and also record them on the Occurrence Book.
  • Emergency numbers and contact lists for different organizations will be displayed in our control room for emergency purposes.
  • The patrolling security team will use their communication devices to keep each other updated and in any case of emergency.
  • Joint patrols with other stakeholders for e.g., SAPS and escorting clients to premises where necessary.

CCTV is a state of the art technology surveillance system, an eye on complete organization. This can be most gainfully utilized to achieve optimum security level. The idea of CCTV is to ensure safety & security by surveillance. It creates a safe and secure environment by ensuring the following:

The CCTV monitoring solution provided by Elphash Trading Enterprise is both on and off site monitoring. The CCTV team monitor every movement of each camera of your CCTV system. It is the most comprehensive electronic monitoring available and will protect your site around the clock. At our Control Room we are able to detect any security breaches in real time and act accordingly. A major advantage of this type of electronic monitoring is that it allows the response team to instantly assess and verify the level of breach and, of equal importance, cut out all false alarms. Research has shown that monitoring a CCTV system by an off site team, as opposed to internal security staff, greatly reduces the risk of in-house security breaches.

Guardian Division

GUARDING

We appoint our security guards in accordance with the Security Officers Act 56 Of 2001. We confirm that our guards have a security clearance, are registered with the Security Industry Regulatory Authority and have no criminal record. We ensure that our security guards have undergone training and have valid Security Industry Regulatory Authority qualifications and that they also have valid firearm licenses (where required) that have not been endorsed.

In order to maintain optimum levels of service we:

  • Assist in drawing up job descriptions and ensure that our guards perform in accordance to them as a basic requirement. The job descriptions are reviewed on a regular basis and are changed in accordance with results from a risk analysis that is also done on a regular basis.
  • Our guards work 12 hour shifts from 06:00 to 18:00 for the day shift and 18:00 to 06:00 for the night shift. Our guards are given 8 (eight) rest days per month. This ensures that each time they are deployed they are of sharp reflexes.
  • Guards are paraded and inspected on each shift to ensure that they are sober, properly dressed and equipped and that they are all present and there will be no shortages in site.
  • A contingent group of guards is maintained on each shift as reserves just in case there are shortages of guards in any one shift.
  • Each site has a supervisor to manage the guards and where the supervisor is unable to solve a problem management gets involved as a matter of urgency.
  • On top of the regular site visits an inspection by our patrol officers’ management and directors also visit and inspect sites to ensure that everything is running smoothly and thus keeping our guards fully alert because they know there will be someone to inspect at sporadic intervals.
  • We guarantee a minimum of two site visits per shift.

PATROL OFFICER

Our trained personnel will ensure that your environment is safely guarded against theft and crime. They report any irregularities that took place in between the hourly checks to the control room and act on any irregularities reported to him by the control room. They also submits reports to the control room daily. Our Security officers are assertive, vigilant, transparent and trustworthy and are able to ensure the security, safety and wellbeing of all personnel, visitors and the premises, excellent knowledge of public, private and security protocols. They are good expertise in escort/VIP security, Strong familiarity with celebrity security devices, High multitasking skills, Excellent ability to work independently with little to no direction, outstanding skills in recognizing and resolving issues.   • PATROL, INSPECT & MONITOR: The patrol security guards secure premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; and inspecting offices, equipment and access points.
  • PREVENT LOSSES, REPORT & INFORM: They prevent loss and damage by reporting nonconformities, informing violators of policies and procedures, and ultimately restraining trespassers.
  • CONTROL TRAFFIC: They control traffic by giving directions to drivers. They also investigate traffic accidents on the premises and aid drivers requiring assistance. They then make an OB Entry, inform the control room and immediate supervisor.
  • DETAIN: Patrol security officers have all the rights to issue warnings and detain individuals who commit offences. They must complete necessary reports of the circumstances.
  • MAINTAIN EQUIPMENT: They make sure that all the equipment on site is operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting, and calling for repairs.
  • ANTICIPATE: Security officers don’t wait for something to happen. They do preventative patrol inspections and proactively undertake security measures to prevent burglary, damage and other misbehavior.
  • PROTECT REPUTATION: By complying with legal requirements, the patrol security officers preserve organization’s stability and reputation. Patrol security officers must adapt and perform adequate activities to ensure everyone and everything is safe and sound.

CROWD/RIOT & TACTICAL RESPONSE UNIT

  • Our Crowd & Riot Management services cover a wide variety of events as well as strikes. Our officers have extensive training and have the capability to respond to any situation quickly and safely.
